John was super nervous because he had a crush on Rose at the time (he thought she was ‘pretty’ or something of that nature) UvU Rose was a little curious about what kissing would be like — it was awkward as hell. They were in fourth grade and their noses ended up mushing together, John pretty much got over his crush after that and the two decided they worked better and functioned better as friends (“because ugh. kissing is gross!” “Agreed.”) They’re still very great friends, yo UvU. They even have rly dumb sleepovers and Rose’ll even humor John’s pranks (even if she sees them coming). They’re total bros.
(Dave, Jade and a few other equally mischievous characters watched and took pictures from the bushes that day, but shhhh John and Rose still don’t know that.)—Mod B, out.

Jake is a Sgt.Maj. in the U.S. Marine Corps. He joined fresh out of high school, was only around twenty-four when he reached this rank and because of this he is highly respected by his peers (well, was anyway) Because Jake is a mix of all kinds of dog breed – dominate traits being ‘timber-wolf’ and ‘bloodhound’ he has (had) an extraordinary sense of smell and general pack instinct on the battlefield. He has a somewhat likeable personality and he cares about his unit. Because of this he was fairly well liked and well known at the base he was stationed at.
Because of his rank, he’s deployed overseas for sometimes months at a time – this arrangement got even stickier and more unbearable when he began dating Dirk when they were both around twenty-three or so. Dirk understands of course, but it doesn’t stop him from missing his boyfriend a fuck ton – considering Jake used to be gone for around nine months out of a year. There is also the added stress because of the fact that his and Dave’s Bro (Beta!Bro UvU) died in action while in the military as well, he’d been against Jake going into the marines since day one.
About six months into their relationship, shit hits the fan. And the military informs Jade that her brother died in action; there is no body to speak of. Dirk spends. Eight months. Thinking Jake is dead – all he has is the other’s dog tag to remember him by. They even bury an empty coffin to give a closure of sorts.
However – in those eight months, Jake had been captured by enemy forces and tortured for three of those months for information – because of a certain type of poison used, Jake lost a majority of his sense of smell, he can still smell, his sense of smell is just equivalent to what would be a ‘normal human’s’ sense of smell. In this universe, it may as well be dead. He somehow made it back to the American Embassy however and is eventually able to get home to Dirk and everyone else. Dirk goes into a brief lapse of denial for a while but when he snaps out of it he doesn’t leave Jake’s side for /months/ unless absolutely necessary, he even takes the other to work with him.
Once things calm down again, Jake is stationed a little closer to home, his job now being to train the new recruits. These days he’s ‘retired’ and is able to come home to Dirk a lot more often, they even live together (much to Dave’s mild annoyance but general at this new family member).
((Mod B: Apologies for the long length everyone! I’ll tag this as ‘long post’ just incase um! Haha„, oops?))
yeah!! fanart is totally okay!!
you have as much artistic and biologist freedom as you want!! we dont really have any concrete headcanons as for race and markings (except for karkat’s albinism but thats not a “race”) or the like!
if you post it your blog you can tag it as #hybrdstuck for us so we can see it!!
I suppose my markings look like the markings on a normal calico cat. My ears have a lot less white than my tail does, I find.

Buns don’t take well to loud noises. When they were younger, Jane and John were of course no exception.
